Homicide Victim, 2005
On November 5, 2005 at 10:45 p.m., 23-year-old Tiona Smith left her job at a McDonald's on Cranbrook Road in Cockeysville, 21030. She got on an MTA bus and rode it to a stop at Eutaw and Fayette streets in Baltimore City. She was seen at that intersection getting into a small four-door car. That was the last time that she was seen alive.
At 11 a.m. the next morning, November 6, 2005, Tiona Smith’s body was found to the rear of the 6800 block of Fox Meadow Road, 21207 by some children playing in the neighborhood. She was still wearing her McDonald’s uniform from the night before. She had trauma to her head and upper body. The Medical Examiner determined that her cause of death was from multiple sharp force injuries and her manner of death was homicide.
It is unknown why Tiona was in the neighborhood where she was found. She was described by friends and family as an easygoing, friendly person who was pleasant to speak with. Family and friends do not know of anyone that would have wanted to harm her.
Baltimore County Police homicide detectives conducted a thorough investigation into this incident. Unfortunately, they were not able to develop any information that might lead to the positive identification of any suspects.
