Francis Scott Key Bridge Incident Updates

Antenna permits are required for construction and installation of telecommunication equipment and structures, including radio/television antennas and cell towers.

If electrical work will be performed, a separate electrical permit is required. Only a licensed electrician who is registered with Baltimore County can apply for an electrical permit.

You must provide the following when submitting your permit application.

  • Construction plans—Signed by a design professional using an architect’s scale
  • Site plans, engineered designed—Note: Site plans are not required for antennas being placed on an existing tower or roof
  • Data Sheets
  • Manufacturer’s specs
  • Approval letter from Third Party review—If applicable for telecommunication towers/structures. Required for small cell antennas
  • If property is located in the 3.3 mile radius of the Martin State Airport (MTN)—Airport Zoning Permit
  • If applying for small cell antennas, or antenna collocation and cell tower construction—Must submit signed documented proof of Baltimore County approval of the plan before permits can be issued. Learn more about the antenna collocation and tower construction processes.
