The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes lists of requests for environmental administrative variances and their status for all County Council Districts. These are the requests for County Council District 2 and are listed below in chronological order.

This variance application replaces variance application #02-24-4036 that has been rescinded by the applicant. Moreover, due to changes in existing conditions and storm water management design, this latest variance would replace the variance granted on February 6, 2018 (tracking #02-17-2633). Of the 50 specimens to be removed, 20 are in poor condition or dead. The additional specimen tree in poor condition is being removed to comply with sight distance requirements along Broadway Road set forth by Baltimore County Department of Permits Approvals and Inspections after this variance was initially posted.

That 0.6 acre of afforestation shall be mitigated by placing 1.2 acres of high priority forest in a Forest Buffer and Forest Conservation Easement at 10 Woodward Lane in Lutherville in accordance with a previous variance granted on March 27, 2023 (tracking number: 02-23-3821) that allowed continued use of this unforested Forest Conservation Easement on the church property.

Due to changes in existing conditions and storm water management design, this variance replaces the February 6, 2018 variance (tracking number 02-17-2633) to remove 40 specimen trees. Of the 48 specimen trees requested to be removed, 18 are in poor condition and 8 are dead.
