The responsibility for the proper operation of the Retirement System and for making effective the provisions of Article V, Title 1 of the County Code is vested in an eleven-member Board of Trustees. The general administration of the Retirement System is vested in the Director of the Office of Budget and Finance.
Meetings
The Board meets once a month. Meetings are closed due to personal and privacy issues. Minutes are protected as they include names of Retirement System members and other personal information.
Members
As defined by §3-3-209 of the County Charter, the Board consists of two County Council appointees, one County Executive appointee, five ex-officio members, two trustees elected by the active membership and one trustee elected by the retired membership. The Ex-officio trustees serve by virtue of their position with Baltimore County.
