Programs and Events

The Center offers a variety of programs and special events, including hands-on environmental education programs for schools and scout groups, for individuals and groups of all ages. All groups must contact the nature center prior to their visit. View detailed program information and a calendar of events.

Monthly Lecture Series

The Nature Center Council provides a monthly lecture series featuring photographers, authors, scientists and watermen to share their insight. Lectures are held at 7 p.m., the third Tuesday each month (excluding July and August).

Kayak Share Program

Join Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Kayak Share program and enjoy paddling at Loch Raven Fishing Center, Marshy Point Nature Center, Rocky Point Park and Miami Beach Park. Membership includes use of a kayak, paddle, life vest and seasonal admission to Rocky Point Park and Miami Beach Park. The cost is $200 for ages 18 and over. The 2024 applications are available through CivicRec. The Loch Raven Fishing Center, Rocky Point and Miami Beach are included in the Kayak Share Program but also have individual rentals.
